Africa 2010

As we are all aware, Africa is a war-torn continent with many needs. Amongst the various organizations that provide help for these people, there is a local faction from White Rock that does what it can. For general information, visit www.swam.ca.

Each year, the folks from White Rock put together a team to provide medical services to a particular area in Africa. In 2010 this team will be serving a community near Paynesville in the country of Liberia. For most, this is the only time they will see a doctor in that year. In mid March of 2010 Dr. Jen will have the privilege of joining the team that is going to Liberia. A caring team of doctors, nurses and various volunteers will come together to provide whatever care is needed - from sutures to medication to feeding malnourished babies.

To assist with the expenses and to keep the home fires burning Dr. Jen will be holding a fundraiser:

Tuesday, February 8th, 2010 is already a monumental day with the 2010 Olympic Torch passing through and the Royal Hudson in White Rock. Let us continue this amazing day of celebration and bringing countries all over the world together by attending this fundraiser and helping the peoples of Africa. You will enjoy a lovely dinner featuring authentic African cuisine, dancing to local DJ Sharky and an opportunity to do some Valentine's shopping for that special someone.
